Welcome to Marlothi View, where the adventure begins within Marloth Park.
Our story is rooted in a deep love for wildlife and the majestic beauty of the African bush. Nestled on the edge of the Kruger National Park, our self-catering accommodation units offer a unique blend of comfort and wilderness.
Founded by nature enthusiasts, Marlothi View was born out of a desire to create a sanctuary that allows guests to experience the untamed beauty and adventure of Africa in a luxurious setting. Each accommodation unit provides an immersive wildlife experience with stunning views and close encounters with nature.
Our mission is to offer an unforgettable safari experience, where guests can relax, explore, and connect with the natural world. Whether you're here for a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a wildlife photography expedition, Marlothi View is your gateway to the wonders of the African bush.
Renier and Evilin Marx are the passionate founders behind Marlothi View. Their vision for this sanctuary is deeply personal, stemming from their own experiences and dedication to humanitarian work.
Renier and Evilin spent years working with Mercy Ships, traveling to various parts of the world to provide medical care and support to those in need. This experience deepened their understanding of the importance of having a place to rest and rejuvenate.
Their realization of the need for a peaceful retreat for ministry workers led to the establishment of Marlothi View, where they offer a haven for relaxation, reflection, and connection with God in the heart of nature.
Their commitment to creating a supportive and nurturing environment is evident in every aspect of Marlothi View. They hope that every guest leaves feeling refreshed and inspired, ready to continue their important journey.
Our journey began with Mercy Ships, an organization dedicated to bringing hope and healing to the world's forgotten poor. As volunteers, we traveled to various countries, providing medical care and support to those in need.
Through our experiences with Mercy Ships, we witnessed the challenges faced by those in ministry, especially in obtaining visas and finding suitable places to rejuvenate. This inspired us to create Marlothi View, a sanctuary for ministry workers to rest and find peace in the tranquility of the African bush.
Marlothi View, located in South Africa, offers a perfect retreat for ministry workers to recover and prepare for their next mission. We are committed to supporting those who dedicate their lives to helping others, providing them with a place to recharge and reconnect with God, in the heart of nature.
More About Mercy Ships In The Link - www.mercyships.org
For 14 years, my wife, Evilin, and I, along with our three children, have been blessed to serve with Mercy Ships, sharing the love of Christ and bringing hope and healing to those in need. Our adventurous journey of faith has been a testament to God's faithfulness, guiding us through challenges and triumphs with grace.
In 2011, we answered God’s calling to serve by selling everything we had and joining Mercy Ships as full-time volunteers. Since then, we have witnessed God’s miraculous work in the lives of thousands, transforming pain into healing and despair into joy.
As our son, RJ, prepares to finish school in 2025 and embark on his journey, we must plan for life after Mercy Ships. We are grateful for the support we've received, which has allowed us to continue serving in the mission field.
We are passionate about giving back by creating Marlothi View—a sanctuary of peace and restoration within a wildlife reservation in South Africa, bordering the Kruger National Park. It will be a place where God's presence is felt in every rustle of the wind and whisper of the trees.
Marlothi View will consist of six self-catering rooms, each offering comfort and tranquility amidst the beauty of nature. A communal kitchen will provide a space for fellowship among guests. It will be a place where weary souls find peace, broken hearts find healing, and God's light shines brightly.
The land for Marlothi View has already been purchased—a beautiful 2000m² plot within nature's splendor. To ensure sustainability, we will equip Marlothi View with eco-friendly solar panels, a backup generator, and a well for water supply.
We envision Marlothi View as a haven for Mercy Ships personnel and alumni—a place to find solace and rejuvenation. Whether you're seeking a retreat from service or reconnecting with fellow volunteers, Marlothi View welcomes you with open arms.
